Changes to hosting accounts

We’ve made a couple of modifications to our lower range of hosting accounts which will benefit all of our customers on these packages.

Our Basic hosting has had its disc space doubled to 200mb, giving you more space for your money, and having the ability to upload more pictures or content to your websites.

Our Home hosting has also had an increase – in the number of mail items, MySQL databases and subdomains from 10 to 15 of each.

We’ve also been able to reinstate our Loyalty Points discounts for all new domains, to make it easier for our loyal customers to save on their website costs!

We’ve contacted all those who requested a response in our Questionnaire – and thank you for taking your time to respond. We’re planning on making some changes very soon, and these will be announced here in due course.

Price increases in New Year

Unfortunately I need to write this post to announce that we will be having to raise some prices of our products in the new year (to take effect 1st Jan 2012).

Due to increasing costs from our suppliers, and the worsening exchange rates with one of our domain suppliers, we will be needing to raise the current price of majority of domains from £8 to £9. Plus we will be increasing a couple of our smaller packages pricing by a quid per year (Business and Ultimate remain unaffected). All other prices should remain the same.

We are still working through our Questionnaire results (and we have a couple of days left should you not have completed it!). Ideas will be implemented as soon as we can, of which we hope all our customers can enjoy.

This is our first price increase in 2yrs, and it is a shame that we have to pass on these costs to our loyal customers. We hope you understand why we are doing it, and if you would like any further information or have any comments, please do speak to us via the Support Helpdesk. Thank you.

Extention to Questionnaire Deadline

We’ve received a fantastic amount of response to our Questionnaire, with lots for us to work on and improve, and equal amounts telling us what we are doing right and what we should continue to do.

However, we’ve noticed there are a number that have not fully completed their questionnaire – or some who have missed out entirely.

But fear not, we love receiving this feedback as it is most valuable to us. Just log into the Customer Centre and fill in (or complete) your questionnaire anytime until 16th December to gain Loyalty Points, and to have a real influence in how we run our business.

Our response to the questionnaire, and some results will appear on here around Christmas. Thanks for your time!

Questionnaire 2011

Time has come for our yearly Questionnaire!

Each year, we ask our customers to fill in a questionnaire with us. This helps us to relate with our loyal customers and find out what we’re doing right, and more importantly, where they feel we can improve.

The knowledge we receive is invaluable to us, and has led to big changes in how we run our company and the services provided to you. In the past few years, we’ve listened to all feedback and implemented them where possible – this has included an automated system to find out Loyalty Points, to the specification of our hosting packages.

This year, we’re asking how you feel about the domains and hosting packages we provide to you, our website and additional features such as this blog. The feedback so far has been brilliant, and has given us lots of inspiration to work on. We have also added an option which tells us if you want a direct and personal reply to your feedback, which has so far been incredibly popular. We’ll be contacting those of you who’ve asked in the next few days!

All those who fill in our questionnaire will receive 10 Loyalty Points – equivelent to a 5% lifetime discount with Invisional Hosting. Plus, one lucky winner will receive an additional 75% off web hosting voucher! Full terms are shown on our Questionnaire.

Coming Soon: VPS and Dedicated Servers

Listening to feedback from our customers, we will soon be releasing VPS and Dedicated Servers!

VPS (Virtual Private Servers) are a step up from simple shared web hosting, allowing you to take control of your own virtual server (using Dell PowerEdge servers and Intel Xeon processors – more details soon). This will allow any heavy usage websites, or customers with many websites to run them independently and to keep them online for one simple monthly (or yearly) fee.

Our basic VPS offering will include 1 CPU Core, 50GB Hard Drive Space, 1GB RAM, Unlimited Bandwidth, with Linux or Windows OS from just £12.95/month. Including VAT, and free setup!

For those larger customers of ours, we will also be offering Dedicated Servers – taking full control of the running the server and your website uptime! With the choice of Windows or Linux OS, and Dual or Quad Core Xeon Processors, our mighty servers will be perfect for your requirements!

Our basic Dedicated Server will contain a 2.33Ghz Dual Core Xeon Processor, 4GB RAM, 160GB usable disc space with unlimited bandwidth on a 100mbps data pipe, for £89.95/month, also including VAT and free setup!

Our servers will be set up automatically, and take around half our to install after receiving payment. We hope these additional products have helped continually improve our range to you, at outstanding prices!

Removal of NoChex

This is an advance notice that we will be removing the NoChex payment option from our ordering system at the end of the year.

From the introduction of Google Checkout, we have seen a huge shift in the amount of payments made to us from NoChex to other payment suppliers, as they have are more well known, reliable and have a fantastic reputation. This has led us to receive a nominal amount of payments through our old payment provider (to less than 10 this year), which means we will need to remove it at the end of the year.

Don’t worry though – We still are (and will continue to) be accepting payments through Google Checkout, PayPal and payments by Cheque or Postal Order. Full instructions are found during the checkout stages of our ordering system.

We’re also looking at more options for you to provide payment to us – if you have any providers that you use, or have any questions – drop us a ticket via our Support Helpdesk.

Quick update

By gosh! The past two months since posting have flown past, and I’m sorry for the lack of updates. However, this does not mean that nothing has been happening behind the scenes to keep us running and up-to-date. Here’s a list of what has happened in the past couple of months since our last update:

  • -OpenCart, PrestaShop, TomatoCart and Simple Invoicing added as a one-click install on our Business and Ultimate packages (or in the ecommerce add-on), giving more choice of shopping systems, and a system to bill customers and track their orders.
  • -More general add-ons and updates to our one-click installs, including: Vanilla  Forums (an attractive and user-friendly forum software), Pligg (a Digg-style website), and Moodle (learning-based content management system (CMS)), Piwik Analytics (an analytics based software). These are available on all packages, except Basic.
  • -Upgrade of goMobi, to allow complete site analytics, creating and printing of QR Code-enabled marketing flyers, ability to upload images to an image gallery plus enhancements to existing features

Not only this, we’ve been able to upgrade our Customer Centre, which has changed our upgrade options. These will now deduct the months you’ve used on your current package, and taken into account for the upgrade to a higher package. These are available through the “Manage Web Hosting” section.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes during the past month. Concentrating mainly on reducing the response times to our Support Tickets and upgrading our systems. As we continually strive to improve ourselves, and we thrive off of feedback from our customers, we’ve introduced a new system to make giving feedback even easier.

If you wish to let us know how we’re doing, what you think we can improve on, or what you think we should add to our services; you can now do this via the easy-to-use feedback form on our Customer Centre. This allows you to rate our service, and give Tom and myself vital information about your experience with us.

All you need to do, is click on the Feedback section whilst logged into our Customer Centre, at your leisure. A simple minute or two filling in this form can vastly improve our experience to benefit yourself and others. We will read every single response individually, and will take any suggestions into consideration.

If you really like our service, and would like to help spread the word of Invisional Hosting, we appreciate your time in filling in reviews on independent websites. A few leading hosting review sites we suggest are Web Host Directory, Web Hosting Stuff and Web Hosting Top. This gives others realistic and down to earth reviews on our service, and allows them to directly compare us to others to our competitors.
